Community Outreach

Over the years, Ignite has been serving the community by offering adhoc free tennis lessons to vulnerable children, those with special needs, as well as at-risk youths. For 2025, in a move to increase our community outreach efforts, we are introducing the Belanja Benefaction Initiative (BBI) in collaboration with churches, our venue-outreach partners, to offer FREE tennis and pickleball lessons to children from vulnerable and disadvantaged communities.

Community Outreach

belanja benefaction initiative

"Belanja" in Malay means to treat someone and that’s what we intend to do.To explain how this works, the initiative will have two categories:

Belanja BenefactorsBelanja Beneficiaries
“Paying students” who bless the initiative by paying our normal published rates for lessons offered.“Non-Paying students” from vulnerable and disadvantaged communities who will be granted free access to our lessons.

Ignite will pilot this initiative with churches as our venue-outreach partners. Lessons conducted at these churches will have slots reserved for children beneficiaries to enrol free-of-charge.The heart of this initiative is for both benefactors and beneficiaries to participate in the same lessons together, thus bridging the social divide as kids of different backgrounds come together to pursue a sport they love and enjoy and be empowered with new skills.

BBI Venue-Outreach Locations

Pop Tennis @ Ignite

ATP Pros Playing POP Tennis!
(Tommy Haas & Justin Gimelstob)

What is POP Tennis?POP Tennis (short for POPular tennis), is tennis played on smaller courts with paddle rackets, lower compression tennis balls (green) and with the same scoring and rules as normal tennis, except that players only get one underhand serve.Benefits of POP Tennis:- Playing on a smaller court means less distance to cover and as a result less running and ** wear and tear** on the back, legs, feet and shoulders.- Rallies are generally longer and there is more fun and exciting net play and (net) poaching.- Increased hand speed/quickness and develops faster hand/eye coordination. Your reflexes and reaction time will be quicker, so that you will feel as if you have far more time to react, move toward, and hit the ball.POP Tennis can significantly improve your tennis game.
